Johan Hermann Stienecker was born in Ladbergen, Westphalia, Prussia, the son of Heinrich Manuel and Anna Christina (Ferleman) Stienecker. Because of various spellings of this surname, the family proves difficult to follow. Mr. Stieneker married Anna Christine Elisabeth Kuck circa 1808.
The Stienecker family immigrated to America in 1840. Two children accompanied them: Hermann Heinrich Wilhelm, 28-03-1825, and Anna Sophie Elisabeth, 29-07-1827. Another son, Hermann Heinrich, 09-01-1815, immigrated in 1836, four years before the family. Their daughter Christine immigrated in 1837 with her husband, Johan Wilhelm Hünefeld.
Another son and Founding Father of Immanuel/s UCC, Holstein, Johan Heinrich Wilhelm Stienecker, and his wife, Sophia nee Peterjohann, also immigrated circa 1837; this son William Steneker died 01 Dec 1886 Hancock County, IA, and was buried Liberty Cemetery: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=steneker&GSfn=william+&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in&GSob=n&GRid=9519467&
