Sam Wright, Sr. Rites Are Sunday

Mr. Sam M. Wright, Sr., of Kennard passed away Wednesday, April 8th at the Blair memorial Hospital after a lingering illness.
He was born to Samuel M. Wright and Ida Pritchard Wright at Kennard on July 13, 1888 and was 75 years of age.
He was married to Hazel Rosenbaum on May 9, 1917 and they made their home in Kennard. He was a carpenter by trade, but also managed elevators at Hooper and Davey.
They were the parents of three children, Sam Wright, Jr., Mrs. Frank Jewett (Virginia) and Mrs. Lester Sorensen (Faye) all of Kennard.
Besides his wife and three children he is survived by six grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers, Jim and Pete of Blair and Cullen Wright of Veneta, Oregon. Also three sisters, Mrs. Maude Jahnel and Mrs. Myrtle Nelsen both of Blair and Mrs. Mabel Stewart of Omaha.
Funeral services will be Sunday, April 12th at the Kennard Methodist Church. The Rev. Samuel J. Hemphill will officiate. The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harry Wrich, Jim Schneider, Henry Gehrk, Byron Lauritsen, Kenneth Hunter and Ola Sorensen.
