Alice O. Baird, age 96, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, in McAfee Personal Care Home. She was born Sept. 15, 1905, in Pittsburgh, to the late Harrison and Henrietta Weiterhausen Ottenbach.

Mrs. Baird was a retired private music teacher who taught both piano and guitar. She was a talented vocalist and soloist and a past member of the Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church Choir. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and was a past member of the White Oak Heights Garden Club. Mrs. Baird was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Smith Falk of Hampton Twp.; her grandchildren, Christine Leasure, Cecil Overcashier, Linda Kern, Barbara Pron, Douglas Falk and Craig Falk; her 14 great-grandchildren; her nephew, H. Frasier Burnworth; and her devoted friend and caregiver, Esther McAfee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Baird, and her sister, Ella M. Burnworth.

Visitation will be Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the HERBERT R. KING, JR. FUNERAL HOME, INC., Route 8 at 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park (Hampton Twp.), www.kingfuneralhome.com, where a prayer service will be held at 9 p.m. with the Rev. Lea Bergstrom. Funeral services Friday, Oct. 19, at noon in the Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church in Confluence. The Rev. Timothy Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
