Lera F. DeTroye, age 95, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, April 26, 2008, at Sheboygan Progressive Care CenterShe was born April 9, 1913, in Greenbush, a daughter of the late Carl and Cecelia (Scheibl) Kind.
On July 13, 1940, she was married to Herbert J. DeTroye. The couple made their home in Plymouth where her husband was a partner in Shell Patterns Corp. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and visiting locations around the world. Their favorite pass-time was Polka Dancing. They had been members of the "We Love To Polka" dance club as well as the Wisconsin Polka Boosters of Milwaukee. Her husband preceded her in death October 7, 1997
Lera enjoyed gardening and watching all sports. She loved cooking and baking for her family.
The last celebration she was able to enjoy was her "95th" birthday with her family of five generations.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene (Bill) Kummer and Nancy Bersch both of Sheboygan, one son "Butch" Dale DeTroye of Waianae, Hawaii, her son in-law Mike Heus of Barneveld, eight grandchildren, Greg and Jeff Heus, Brad Brown, Brenda Brown (her special friend Roman), Amy Brown (her special friend Mike), Angela (Trent) Barringer, Pam (Todd) Baker and Tammy (Nick) Scharrer, eight great grandchildren, Becky, Brandon, Jacob, Erica, Sydney, Lucas, Madalyn and Payton, two great-great grandchildren, April and Jordan. She is also survived by four sister in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Heus, a grandson Michael, a granddaughter Becky and her daughter in-law Pua, two brothers Harold and Ray Kind, four sisters, Mildred Wessel, Verna Webb, Evelyn Sass and Ione Ford.
Lera will be remembered fondly for her smile and her great sense of humor. Everyone always said that she was "One Sweet Little Lady".
