KEWADIN—Mrs. Alice Barnes, 80, passed away early Friday morning after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from, the Dockery-Wilhelm Chapel, the Rev. Floyd McCarty officiating. Burial was made in Maple Grove cemetery.
Born Alice Sackett in Leelanau County on October 3, 1876, she moved with her family to the Kewadin area when a small child. In 1897 she married Chester Barnes and settled on a farm in that area.
She was a life member of the Kewadin Methodist church and a charter member of the W. S. C. S.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Vera Pederson, of South Milton; Mrs. Fern Grammer, of Kewadin: Mars. Ruby McCleary, of Grosse Pointe, two sons, Lloyd of Ypsilanti, and Mervyn, of Kewadin, a sister Mrs Elizabeth Hole, of Rapid City, 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Six grandsons acted as pallbearers.
