Services for Alfred Soren Nielsen, 84, of Blair, who died Wednesday, February 26, 1986, at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital, will be Friday, February 28, 2 p.m., at Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Debra Thompsett will officiate and burial will be in the Kennard Cemetery.

Nielsen was born June 1, 1901, the son of Soren and Maren Nielsen of Blair. He attended McCarthy School and his favorite hobby was bowling.

He married Mary V. Andersen on February 24, 1933, in Omaha.

He farmed in the Kennard area all his life.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Blair; one daughter, Marian Gilbert of Blair and one son, Warren of Kennard; two brothers, Carl of Eugene, Oregon, and Gifford of Fremont; one sister, Ella Hovendick of Fremont; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jon Gilbert, Tim Gilbert, Keith Clapper, Matt Nielsen, Rick York, Bob Smith, Rick Maslowsky and Bob Glissman.

Organist will be Clare Cowing and vocalist will be Homer Nielsen.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair is in charge of arrangements.
