Chris H. Nelsen Rites Tuesday

Chris. H. Nelsen died at his home in Kennard Saturday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. The attributing cause of his death was heart trouble from which he had been ailing for the past year.

Deceased was born in Denmark April 18, 1874, and when six months of age came with his parents to America. They settled first in Omaha and later moved to a farm northwest of Kennard. Here he grew to manhood and was educated in the rural school.

On Dec. 24, 1900, he was married to Leona Cashman and to them four children were born, two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Bates of Omaha and Mrs. Hazel Toft, of Blair, and two sons, Harold and Orville, both of Omaha.

The wife died on Feb. 10, 1929 and on Sept. 29, 1934, he was married to Alta Tallman of Omaha. The wife and the two daughters and two survive, as do also four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Besides those of his immediate family, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Anna Ward and Mrs. Nels Nielsen of Omaha and one brother, William, of Downer, California.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Church in Kennard with Rev. P. L. Thorslev officiating, and interment under the supervision of the Fick Funeral Home was made in the Kennard Cemetery
