Archie Neet Is Buried at Kennard

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 25, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard for Archibald (Archie) T. Neet, Kennard, who died September 11, 1982, in Beatrice.

The Rev. Russell Saltzman conducted the services. Burial was in the Kennard Cemetery.

Archibald T. Neet was born December 13, 1923, at Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Fred and Millie Sampson Neet. He married Betty Cookus on February 25, 1947, in Beatrice.

He attended school at Emmetsburg, Iowa. A brakeman and conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad, he lived at Ringstead, Iowa, before moving to Omaha and also had lived in Beatrice and North Platte. He moved to Kennard in October, 1965.

He was a member of the Kennard Fire Department and the John S. Bowen Masonic Lodge 232 and was a past master. He was a past Justice of the Peace and was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Canell, North Platte; and Mrs. Deborah Mathiesen, Kennard; and one son, Steven Neet, Long Prairie, Minnesota. Three grand-children; two sisters, Ione Pedersen, Ringsted, Iowa; and Hazel Jensen, Ringsted, Iowa; and one brother, Merbill Neet of Emmetsburg, Iowa, also survive him.

Pallbearers were Howard Bohanan, John Davey, Doug Dierks, Henry Gehrk, Lyle McClain and Harlow Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers were Roscoe Anderson, William Byers, William Harper, Kenneth Hunter, Lloyd Jacobs, Arnold Matzen and Roy Rosenbaum.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
