Frances M. McNaney, 70, of 8624 Oakmont Road, Bloomington, died at 2:50 p.m. Sunday (April 20, 2008) at St. Vincent's Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.
Frances was born April 4, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Charlie and Theresa Leo Serra. She married Ted C. McNaney on April 20, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Theresa (Robert) Bedrosian, Twin Lakes, Wis., and Mary (David) Stansbury, Bettendorf, Iowa; one son, James (Janet) McNaney, LeClaire, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jake Stansbury, James and Bryan Bedrosian and Crystal (Matt) Garwood; three great-grandchildren, Corrie Sable and Patrick and Dustin Garwood; three sisters, Lucretia (Frank) Fazio, Des Moines, Iowa; Dorothy (Joe) Puglise, White Plains, N.Y.; and Rosemary (Pete) Acri, Des Moines, Iowa; one brother, Charles (Connie) Serra, Oelwein, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Raymond and Frankie Serra.
Frances was a seamstress. She worked for several drapery shops and made drapes for the dormitories at Illinois State University until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Young at Heart Club, the Italian Cultural Society and the Irish Heritage Society, all in Bloomington. Frances enjoyed quilting, cooking, reading and flowers.
