Mary Christensen Lautrup was born in Denmark in 1881 and came to Harlan, Iowa, when she was 16 months old. She resided at Harlan until after her marriage to Chris Ever Lautrup on May 17, 1902.

She died at the Kennard Hospital after a two-day illness.

She was survived by four sons and six daughters, one daughter (Francis) dying in infancy. The sons were Howard of Irwin, Iowa; Harold, Henry and Edward of Kennard, Nebraska; the daughters were Mrs. Luella Hansen, Irwin, Iowa; Mrs. Neal (Viola) Vreugdenhil of Blair, Nebraska; Leona, Ella, Bertha and Dorothy at home. Five grandchildren also survived her.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday with burial in the Kennard Cemetery.
