KENNARD RESIDENT DIES SATURDAY

M. P. LARSEN HAD LIVED IN WASHINGTON COUNTY SINCE 1872

M. P. Larsen, 79, passed away suddenly about noon last Saturday at his home in Kennard. He had been working in his garden a short time that morning, and not feeling well, he went into the house to lie down. He passed away in a very few minutes. He and his wife were alone having just returned Thursday evening from a visit with their daughters in Omaha, but as soon as he became ill, two daughters, Mrs. W. A. French and Mrs. A.J. Fowler, were called to the home to help care for him as Mrs. Larsen is quite frail and unable to care for him alone.

Mr. Larsen was born in Denmark Nov. 10, 1850, living in that country until March 1872 when he came to America to live. He arrived in Washington county on April 10 of that year coming directly to Kennard and had resided in Kennard vicinity continuously until ten years ago he moved into Kennard. On Sunday, April 13, of this year he celebrated the fifty-eighth anniversary of his arrival in Kennard by having a family reunion and dinner at his home. On December 5, 1874, he was united in marriage to Miss Ansine Miller and to this union eleven children were born, three of them dying in childhood.

Besides the wife he is survived by three sons, L. M., Harry and Edgar of Kennard; five daughters, Mrs. Martena Davis and Mrs. Raymond Dixon of Omaha, Mrs. A.J. Fowler, Mrs. C.W. Hansen and Mrs. W.A. French, all of Kennard; and twenty-four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also one brother, H. Chris Larsen, of Orum and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Kennard Lutheran church where a large concourse of friends and relatives had gathered at 2 p.m. on Monday to pay their last respects to him who had been their friend and neighbor so many years. Rev. K. Larsen, pastor of the church, had charge of the services while a quartette of young folks from Dana college sang a number of beautiful songs. Interment was made in the family lot in the Kennard cemetery.

Lauritz married Mary Kirstin Larsen (born Hansen).
Mary was born Circa May 10 1884, in Nebraska.
They had 2 sons: Leonard Myron Larsen and one other child.
Lauritz lived on month day 1885, Nebraska.
He lived in 1900, Nebraska.
He lived in 1910, Nebraska.
He lived in 1920, Nebraska.
He lived in 1930, Nebraska.
Lauritz passed away on month day 1944, at age 63 at death place, Nebraska.
