He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, his wife, two sons, and one daughter. Surviving him are noted as one sister, Arabella (Belle) PIATT WORTHINGTON who resided in Chevy Chase, Washington, DC; two daughters, (at home) Marguerite and Juliette Bertha PIATT. William McCoy PIATT was considered an inventor of machinery and had secured a number of patents. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Bellefontaine.
