Judge Jackson was in Kennard Friday at the invitation of the Masonic lodge at that place to conduct the Masonic services at the funeral of Rev. Hawley, whose death occurred last Wednesday. Rev. Hawley was Dr. Pruner’s father-in-law and came west with the doctor and family. He was a retired minister of the Christian faith and lived a long and useful life, being 76 years of age. The church services were held in the Christian church. Rev. Finch of Blair officiating, after which the Masonic services were held. A large number of friends and neighbors were at the funeral to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed, whose life was full of good deeds.
