NIELS O. HANSEN RITES TUESDAY

Niels O. Hansen, long time resident of Kennard, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home last Friday, May 10th, at the age of seventy three years. He was born May 11, 1873 in Denmark and when he was sixteen years of age he came to this country, settling in Kennard.

In the spring of 1902 he was married to Olena K Sorensen. To them a family of children were born, and of these children two survive, Alfred of Omaha and Mrs. August Matzen, Jr. of Blair; also two brothers, C. W. of Kennard and Josias of Belleville, New Jersey, and one sister, Mrs. Olena Fransen of Buhl, Idaho survive.

The wife passed on thirty five years ago, but Mr. Hansen kept the family together. Farming was his occupation, but he was at one time associated with the Nye-Schneider Elevator Company. For the last nineteen years he has been custodian of the Kennard school building.

Deceased was a member of the Lutheran Church, of the Danish Brotherhood and I.O.O.F. Lodges.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Bendorf Funeral Home, and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
