Born Joy Paige in Los Angeles, she was the daughter of actor Don Alvarado. After her parents divorced, her mother married movie executive Jack L. Warner and at age 17 she was put under contract to Warner Bros. "Casablanca" marked her film debut. Her other credits include the films "Kismet" (1944), "Bullfighter and the Lady" (1951), "Conquest of Cochise" (1953), "The Shrike" (1955), and "Tonka" (1958), and television appearances in "Jane Wyman Presents The Fireside Theatre", "Studio 57", "Wagon Train", and "Cheyenne".
