4 BGS's Lysander aircraft (#1540), with two airmen on board, had been towing drogues for an air to air firing exercise, breaking way at the completion of this exercise. The Lysander was seen to take a sharp dive about 15 minutes later, crashing into the ground 1 and 1.5 miles north-west of Sheddon, Ontario. Both Corporal Kenneth Elgin Nicholson and Flight Sergeant Robert PRENTICE perished in this aircraft accident.
