John George was a carpenter and a stone cutter.
John's first wife was Orilla P. Carr. She married John on August 08, 1850 in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Orilla was the daughter of Orilla and P.H. Kerr/Carr and was still living with her parents in the 1850 Census on Aug 5, 1850 in Warren Township, Washington County, Ohio.
Orilla P. CARR was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, although the 1850 Census list her birth along with her mom as NY (father Vt). She died 1854 in Des Moines County, Iowa. She died shortly after the birth of their son William Wallace.
John and Orilla had two children:

John moved in with his daughter Rosaline/Rosamond "Rosa" Inez and her spouse Reinhart Waldner. He lived with them in KS, CO, and finally Santa Cruz, CA where he died.
