Newport Man, War Vet, Dies

Newport, April 8 - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for JESSE FOOSE, Civil War veteran, who died at his home here Friday evening. The services were conducted at 2:30 at the Friend's Church. Burial was in the Thomas Cemetery.
Mr. Foose was 89 years old and had lived in Newport for the past 12 years. His former home was in Missouri.
Surviving Mr. Foose are the widow, 2 daughters, Mrs. Hattie Buckner of Hereford, TX, and Mrs. M.E. Robinette of Reno, NV, and one son, Courtney Foose of Waverly, MO. Ten grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive.
