MARTHA BLACK was born in Clark County, Kentucky, June 2, 1794. She came to Ohio with her parents in 1809 where she married James Turner, Jr in June 1812. He was the son of James and Ann Ford (or Rodney) Turner, who were pioneer settlers of Champaign County, Ohio.
