Photographer. Born in the United States, she was first known for her work as a fashion model for Vogue, and then as the lover and muse of Man Ray, with whom she studied photography in Paris. Later she became one of the first American women to work as a correspondent during World War II, her photography depicting the casualties of war, the liberation of concentration camps and the end of the conflict. She was also a noted figure in the Surrealist movement. Miller spent her last years in England, where she died.
