Professional Figure Skater, Olympic Athlete. She was the 1937 World Figure Skating Champion and won a silver medal during the 1936 Winter Olympics. Born Magdalena Cecilia Colledge in England, she was the daughter of renowned physician Lionel Colledge. She began skating at the age of seven and first experienced Olympic competition during the 1932 games at the age of eleven. Her other notable career highlights include three-time European Champion (1937 to 1939) and numerous British Championships. After retiring as a performer, Colledge began coaching and was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1980. She died of congestive heart failure.
