Eva Gerberich Hetrick, 83, 122 E. Oak St., Palmyra, died Thursday afternoon (Jan. 25, 1979) in the Alpine Retirement Center, Hershey, after a six-week illness. Born in Lickdale area to the late Alfred W. and Kate Jones Gerberich, she was a member of Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra, and the Palmyra Senior Citizens. She had been an employee of the tin can department of Hershey Foods Corp. for 26 years. Mrs. Hetrick's husband Harry W. Hetrick, died in 1970. Her first husband, Samuel L. Brown died in 1942. She is survived by sisters Emma Gerberich, Jennie Gerberich and Ellen, wife of John H. Rhoad, all of Palmyra; and Anna Rhine, Grantville RD 1; brother Alfred P. Gerberich, Palmyra; stepsons Mervin C. Hetrick; Hershey; Theodore Hetrick, Altoona; and Orville Hetrick, Palmyra; stepdaughter Bertha, wife of Lunzie Shifflett, Palmyra; and 15 step-grandchildren. [Lebanon Daily News]
