Death of Mrs. J. S. McDaniel. __Mrs. J. S. McDaniel, 209 First avenue west, died yesterday morning. __Mary Ann Bruce, daughter of Rev. James C. and Margaret Bruce, was born in Warren county, Illinois, January 27, 1838. She received her education in Monmouth college. In January 1864 she was married to J. S. McDaniel who was on leave of absence from the army. __Mrs. McDaniel was a quiet, cheerful woman always looking upon the bright side of life. She had hosts of friends and "Aunt Mollie," as she was known by many will be sadly missed. She was a member of the First presbyterian church, and although she was not able to attend regularly, the church was very dear to her. __Mrs. McDaniel had lived in Cedar Rapids almost forty years. Besides her husband she leaves six children to mourn her death: Mrs. J. H. Lutes, Mrs. W. A. McConkle and Charles F. McDaniel, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. C. W. Gray of Lincoln, Neb.; Mrs. S. L. Bear of Volga, Iowa; and Dr. E. B. Mcdaniel, a medical missionary in Petchaburi, Siam. Dr. McDaniel was home on a furlough last year, after an absence of seven years. __The funeral will be held at the residence Thursday morning at ten o'clock. Because of the large number of relatives it will be private. Interment will be in Linwood.
