Paul Chapmon, 88, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Caverna Memorial Hospital.
The Hart County native was a retired employee of the International Harvester Tractor Company in Illinois, a member of the Northtown Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran where he was a member of the 33rd Division under General Patton and received the Purple Heart, along with many other service awards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thomas Chapmon and Sara Logsdon Chapmon; a brother, Lovis Chapmon; and a sister, Dorothy Elaine Adwell.
Survivors include his wife: Edith Adwell Chapmon of Horse Cave; a daughter: Kathy Moreland of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one sister: Mable Heady of Wataga, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial was in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with full military rites conducted by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.
