It is believed he was named John B. Gordon Hanson rather than Gorden as is inscribed on his tombstone. This information is from his sister, my mother, Ruth Jane Hanson Hart and from a copy of his death certificate, various censuses and other data.
He grew up in the Ft. Perry, Marion County, GA. area, living at home with his parents and his four siblings, Marshal, Marion, Jessie and Ruth
Gordon married Mabel Hart 3 Dec 1911, and they went on to have just two children, Irene and Lindol.
Gordon died in Manchester, from a fall down a set of wooden steps which led from the railroad yards up to Broad St From a copy of his Death Certificate, he was listed as John B. Gordon Hanson, and that he died from a fractured cervical vertibrae, and probably complete debilitation of the heart. Information given and signed by his father A.E. Hanson.
He is buried here at Pine Level, along with his wife and two children.
