Elsie "Miss Elsie" Louise Hauptfleisch Pierce was the daughter to Fritz Max Hauptfleisch and Martha Louise Fuhrmann. Elsie Hauptfleisch married Willard Laurel Pierce in Gause, Texas on September 19,1935. The couple had three children.
Mrs. Pierce was a teacher for 47 years, a number of years in Milano where she served as principal at Milano Elementary for several years. She was a dedicated teacher. She enjoyed needlework, quilting and making baby shoes, and retired in 1979. She was a member of Milano United Methodist Church where she played the piano, was very active in church having served in most of the committees. She also played the piano at the local nursing home. She was a Milano resident for 60 years, and had lived in Pearsall the last two years of her life at the Harvest Care Nursing Center.
