Samuel Jackson Kennerly, Jnr grew up in Franklin Co., TN but left home at an early age & went to Huntsville, AL. By 1881 he was in Texas & started a hardware business in Gainesville, TX. In 1883, he married Caroline Bird & they had three daughters. He celebrated 50 yrs. in the hardware business in 1931.
