RAYMOND JOHNSON
Raymond Johnson, 81, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 17, 2000. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 20 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Campground Cemetery in Fentress County, TN. Clayton Padgett and Wayne Matthews officiated.
Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Dunlap, TN, the son of Sie and Bessie Johnson.
He was an ordained Baptist minister, Sunday school teacher at Bible Baptist Church, singer, song writer, guitar player and radio broadcaster.
Survivors include his daughters, Ogretta Yoakum of Whitmore Lake, MI, Eleanor England of Clarkrange, TN, and Joyce Vanhoose of Mt. Clemons, MI; brothers, Casper Johnson and Arvin Johnson; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sie and Bessie Johnson; wife, Irene Harmon Johnson; brothers, J.M. Johnson, Willy Johnson, Garland Johnson and Gordon Johnson; sisters, Vieva Harmon, Buela Back and Verna Johnson; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers were Harold Christopher, Danny Stephens, William Morgan III, Ricky England, Nelson Morales, Randy England and Jimmy Vanhoose.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
