Mrs. Edna Pursley Wood, 81, of LaGrange, GA, and formerly of Pensacola, passed away Monday, April 7, 2008 at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Wood was born in Randolph County, Alabama; daughter of the late J.C. and Annie C. Hodges Pursley. She was a homemaker and a member of Hilyer Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Ford Wood; son, James L. Fuller; brother, Milton L. Pursley; brother-in-law, Carlton Gillam.
Survivors include her sister, Sara Gillam of LaGrange, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert "Bill" Pursley of King, NC, Willie Pursley of LaGrange, GA, and Marvin and Shirley Pursley of TN; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her church family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with the Rev. S.T. Janney officiating.
Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens in Pensacola with the Rev. William McNeely officiating.
The family will be at her home, and will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted, or those desiring may contribute to the American Kidney Foundation in memory of Mrs. Wood.
