United States Trade Representative under President Richard M. Nixon from 1971 to 1974. Member of the Idaho State House of Representatives from 1953 to 1961. Also a successful businessman, Eberle was a co-founder of the pulp and paper company Boise Cascade in Idaho, and was once the Chief Executive of Manufacturing for the American Standard Firm.
