John "Elmo" Turner, 76, of Patrick Springs, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born in Patrick County on May 11, 1928 to Leonard Tyler Turner and Martha Susan Texas Adams Turner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Cockram Turner; a sister, Annie Hestell Foley; and a brother, Richard Nesco Turner.
He was a building contractor and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters: Carol Turner-Janosko of Patrick Springs and Reba Jean Hildebrand of Yorba Linda, Calif.; four grandchildren; two sisters: Lelia Lizzie Bowles and Velda Mae Handy, both of Patrick Springs; and two brothers: J. Edwin Turner and Junior L. Turner, both of Patrick Springs.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with the Rev. Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Moody Funeral Home.
