Second wife of Mao ZeDong, they were married in May of 1928 until 1939. Mao married He after his first wife was killed by KMT forces. She was born in Yunshan. He joined the communist party of China in 1926, this is where she met Mao, he was a classmate of her older brother. He and Mao had six children, three boys and three girls, all but one daughter Li Min died at a young age or were raised by other families. He is technically the third wife of Mao, when Mao was 14 his father arranged a marriage with a local girl but Mao never acknowledged the marriage.
