Alanson Robert Piper, son of Asa Piper and Abigail P. (Cornell) Piper, was born 17 February 1843 in Palmyra Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. He married Sarah E. Wilcox, daughter of Isaac Wilcox and Emaline Rappleye, on 17 January 1869 in Blissfield Township, Lenawee County, Michigan. George Wilcox attended. He died on 30 October 1913 in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. He was buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
