Funeral services for Pvt. Oscar Harvey, 27, of Cynthia St., who was fatally injured in an automobile accident Tuesday during Army maneuvers at Camp Polk, LA. will be held at 4 P.M. Sunday in the Zion's Rest Baptist Church, Willowbranch and Roselle Streets. The Rev. J.D. Hurst will officiate. The body will rest at the home until 2:30 P.M. Pallbearers will be T.H. Hogan, Paul Hogan, Gordon North, Gus Rice, Chester Rice and Jeff Rice. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery (Gravely Hill Cemetery) with military services at the grave. Private Harvey was a native of DeLand, FL., moving to Jacksonville 17 years ago from Orange Park. He was inducted into the Army in March and was a member of Company A, 97th Signal Battalion.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mattie Harvey, a brother, Ralph Edward Harvey, U.S. Army, a niece, Miss Virgie Mae Harvey, and a nephew, James Harvey of this city.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Key-McCabe Funeral Home.
