She was born in Haverhill April 12, 1908, daughter of the late Moses L. and Jennie (Greenberg) Brown and the widow of the late Hyman M. Rakofsky. She was a former member of the American Red Cross, Community Chest, and Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary.
She leaves a daughter Miss Marlene D. Rakofsky with whom she lived; a brother Dr. Malcolm L. Brown, Plainfield, N. H; three sisters, Mrs. Anne Waxler, Portland Maine, Mrs. Etta Agronin, Appleton, Wisc., and Mrs. Beatrice Feldman, Worcester, and several nieces and nephews.
A private service was conducted today at H. L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., with Rabbi Abraham Jacobson, DD officiating. Burial was in Children of Israel Cemetery.
At the request of the family there will be no memorial week and memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 174 Central St, Lowell, 01852, or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 79 Milk St, Boston.
