Harold L. "Bill" Cline, 79, of 1140 Jefferson Blvd., Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at his home.

Born Jan. 31, 1921, in Garfield, Md., he was the son of the late John W. and Mae Hauver Cline.

He was a 1939 graduate of Middletown High School.

He was a farmer for 55 years, and was employed with Fairchild Aircraft and Charlton Brothers Transportation, both in Hagerstown.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was a member of South Mountain Rod and Gun Club in Smithsburg.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Jane Cline; six daughters, Delores Krasowski, Barbara Ann Cline, Loretta L. Moser and Mickey L. Myers, all of Hagerstown, Gloria Jean Jacques of Smithsburg and Mae M. Unger of Great Cacapon, W.Va.; five sons, Jerry A. Cline, Terry L. Cline, Victor L. Cline and Lance E. Cline, all of Hagerstown, and Wayne D. Cline of Falling Waters, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold L. Cline Jr., a sister and two brothers.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. Pastor Jay M. Fritz will officiate. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
