| Birth: | Aug. 11, 1738 Bohemia Acres Cecil County Maryland, USA | | Death: | Jan. 7, 1807 New Brunswick Middlesex County New Jersey, USA |  US Continental Congressman. A successful import merchant, he was a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly from 1776 to 1779 and in 1784. During the Revolutionary War he was a Colonel in the 2nd Regiment, Philadelphia Volunteers, and served in the Battles of Brandywine, Germantown, and Princeton. In 1785, he was elected a member of the 2nd Continental Congress, serving until 1786. After his term, he relocated to New Jersey, was elected Mayor of New Brunswick, in 1790 and served as judge of the Court of Common Pleas. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
