Renae Johnson Ainge, of Lake Shore, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Christmas morning.
Renae was born November 23, 1936, in Spanish Fork, to Florene Rowbury and R. Dean Johnson. She attended schools in Spanish Fork. She married her childhood sweetheart, Jay E. Ainge, on November 24, 1954, in Spanish Fork. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
Her talents and accomplishments include: playing the piano, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, and sewing, which she generously shared with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, fishing, hunting, and snowmobile trips at their Strawberry cabin; and, later at their Indianola cabin. Jay and Renae worked as partners in their plumbing business and all other aspects of their lives. She loved: winters in Quartzsite, AZ, visiting teaching, grandchildren, candy, roses, the gospel, music, people, camping, and eating out.
Survivors include her daughters: Carlene (Robert) Beckstrand, Meadow; Nita (Doug) Carter, Lake Shore; Sandy (Larry) Leavitt, Yakima, WA; Suzi (Bert) Carter, American Fork; sister, Gwen (Keith) Barney; step-mother, Neva Johnson; step-sisters: Charlene (Doug) Allen; Paulette (Larry) LeDuc; step-brother, Bryant (Colleen) Sanderson; three sisters-in-law: Marlene Mayo, Betty Kaye (Rowley) Curtis, and Helen Ainge; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and brother, Carl Dean Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, in the Lake Shore Church, 5916 South 3200 West, Lake Shore, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main in Spanish Fork; and, one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
