Garret Williamson, youngest child of Nicholas and Lucrecy (Voorhees) Williamson, was born at Gravesend, L. I., March 15, 1728, died at Neshanic, N. J., Jan. 17, 1790. He was an Elder in the Reformed Dutch Church at Neshanic. He married Aug. 18, 1761, Charity Bennett (born April 30, 1731, died Oct. 27, 1783). They had issue: Nicholas, born Oct. 8, 1762, Cornelis, born March 28, 1764, Jacobus, July 10, 1768, Anne, April 3, 1767, Lucrecy, Dec. 25, 1768. He married 2d Jan. 14. 1787. Alche Patterson; no issue.

1) Some online records say Garret's middle name was Nicholas.

2) Garret Williamson's Will: 1798, Nov. 30. WILLIAMSON, Garret, of Hillsborough Twsp, Somerset Co.; will of. Wife, Aeltje, negro woman named PEG; and the furniture she brought with her; also 1/3 income of my real estate, during her life. Son, Nicholas, £35 yearly for the support of my son, James, who is insane; and to reminburse himself for the support of said son, James, he is empowered to sell both real and personal estate. After death of son, James, the proceeds of estate to be equally divided between my 4 children, to wit, sons, Nicholas and Cornelius and daughters, Ann (wife of John COCK or COX) and Lucretia (wife of Oliver PARSELL). Executor - son, Nicholas. Witnesses - Peter D. VROOM, Jacobus QUICK, Jocham QUICK. Proved Feb. 1, p. 254. Lib. 40, p. 254; File 1239R.

3) Garret and Charity were buried at the old cemetery at Neshanic according to D. D. W. of New Brunswick, N. J. (a 2nd great-grandson).This information is from page 318 of the Somerset County Historical Quarterly Vol VI.

4) Mill Lane cemetery is also known as the Neshanic Reformed Church Burial Ground and Flagtown Cemetery. Their son, Nicholas, was buried there. The cemetery belongs to the Neshanic Reformed Church.
