Larry Dean Greer, 50, of Ammon, died April 2, 2008, at his home. He was born March 10, 1958, in Nampa, Idaho, to Paul Joseph Greer and Mary Ideana Abbott Greer. He grew up in Nampa and graduated from Nampa High School. He also attended Ricks College and Boise State University. He married Lori Ann Harmon March 20, 1980, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Nampa and Kuna, and then moved to Ammon two years ago. He taught Vocational Education at South Junior High School in Nampa, as well as shop and small engine repair. He designed, invented and manufactured tools used by other craftsmen and sold his business in western Idaho before moving to the Idaho Falls area to be closer to his children. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served many years as a Sunday School teacher and in the Sunday School Presidency. In his youth he served a full-time mission to the Argentina, Buenos Aires South Mission. He enjoyed mechanics, auto body work, business management, western movies and books, playing the guitar, riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers, and camping. One of the greatest joys in his life was his granddaughter, Olivia Picanco. Survivors include: Wife: Lori Ann Greer, Ammon, Idaho; Daughter: Leah Faye (David) Picanco, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Son: Joshua Thomas (Helen) Greer, Pocatello, Idaho; Son: Tyson Dean (KaDee) Greer, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Daughter: Miranda Cherie Greer, Ammon, Idaho; Mother: Mary Ideana Greer, and Brothers: Michael Rae Greer and John Thomas Greer, all of Nampa, Idaho; One granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Ammon LDS 26th Ward, 1100 South Tiebreaker, with Bishop Rodney Roberts officiating. The family will visit Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery
