Donald Frank Lambrecht was born November 23, 1937 in Nicholas Senn Hospital in Douglas County to Frank and Opal (Hovendick) Lambrecht.

He grew up with one brother, Kenny, and one sister, Mildred, on a farm outside of Bennington.

Don married Lois shortly after she graduated from high school in 1962. They started their lives together on a farmstead north of Bennington where business continues today. Don was a very active livestock and crop farmer. He also kept busy repairing equipment and machinery. Don loved time with his family, enjoying any time spent with grand and great grandchildren, especially watching them in 4H. Over the years, he also enjoyed deer hunting and tractor pulling.

Don Lambrecht, 85, of Bennington, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 in a car accident near Bennington, Nebraska.

Don is survived by his wife Lois; children: Deb (Mark) Laux and Gary (Sarah) Lambrecht; six grandchildren: Brandon (Katelyn) Hilger, Trevor (Schuyler) Hilger, Dillon Hilger, Colton Hilger, Amanda (Tyler) Lehan, and Cody (Kelsee Fargo) Lambrecht; great-grandsons: Oaklen and Atlas Hilger; sisters and brothers-in-law along with nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Opal Lambrecht, sister Mildred Gramlich and brother Kenny Lambrecht.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, August 4 at 10:00 AM at the Rybin building on the Washington County Fairgrounds in Arlington. Burial will follow in the German Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3 from 5-8 PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair, Nebraska.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation to local charities.
