RUTH DRIGGERS DOUGLAS, 80, of Starke died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Bradford Terrace Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Douglas was born in Manatee on Feb. 16, 1928, and moved to Starke in 1952 from Jacksonville. She was a member of the Bayless Highway Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Douglas is survived by: daughters, Agnes Dinkins Lake of Yulee and Debbie Thigpen of Starke; a son, Arthur Douglas of Lenoir City, Tenn.; a sister, Flossie Lee of Zephyrhills; a brother, Richard Driggers of Zephyrhills; a friend and caregiver, Nana Bowen of Starke; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, March 8, with Dr. Donald Bennett conducting the services.

Interment followed in Crosby Lake Cemetery under the care of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home of Starke.
