Former Alaskan resident Lisa Kay Wright Shields, 30, died March 23, 1995, in Ogden, Utah, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A funeral service was at Morgan Stake Chapel in Morgan, Utah. Interment was at South Morgan Cemetery in Morgan, Utah.
Mrs. Shields was born May 11, 1964, in Anchorage to A. Kearlee and Mary E. "Beth" Spalding Wright. She married Greg Shields Aug. 21, 1985, in the Salt Lake Latter-day Saints Temple in Utah. She attended school in Soldotna, and graduated in 1987 from Brigham Young University, where she was a cheerleader. Mrs. Shields was an active member of the Church of Latter-day Saints, Morgan Second Ward in Utah, where she served as a first counselor in the Primary Organization, a children's organization of the church. Her family said, "She dedicated her life in service to her husband, children, family church and friends. She was prepared in every way to meet her maker."
Mrs. Shields is survived by her husband, Greg; sons, Rex, Sam, Andy and Ty, all of Morgan, Utah; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kearlee Wright of Soldotna; grandmother, Madge Wright of Soldotna; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Nicholls of Morgan, Utah; brothers and sister, Kearlee Ray Wright of Soldotna, Kerry Wright of Palmer and Kaelene Petersen of Monrovia, Calif. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mr. and Mrs. Shields' missionary fund for their sons at the First National Bank, P.O. Box 870, Morgan, Utah 84050. Funeral arrangements were handled by Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Utah.
