Longest-serving prime minister in Canadian history, 22 years over three separate terms. Served in the House of Commons (1908-1911, 1919-1925, 1926-1948). Leader of the Liberal Party (1919-1948). King was prime minister during World War II, hosting Roosevelt and Chgurchill at the Quebec Conference of 1943. Seen as a steady if uninspirational leader. A lifelong bachelor, he was later found to have often conferred with his mother and his dog, both long dead at the time. He died at Kingsmere, his estate near Ottawa, now a park. Pictured on the Canadian $50 bill.
