Macomb, May 11 - Our community has again been entered and death has removed a loving friend in the person Tuesday Morning, April 29. She was born in the town of Macomb in 1854 the daughter of Perry and Percy Washburn. All that loving hands could do was done, but her work was finished and her Saviour, whom she trusted through all, had a welcome for her. Beside her husband she leaves five children, one son and four daughters, Perry and Flora of Macomb, Mrs. Willet Covell of Popes Mills, Mrs. William Larock of Heuvelton and Mrs. Jay Cameron of Humbolt, Sash. She also leaves four sisters: Mrs. William Watson and Mrs. James Bayne of Macomb; Mrs. M. J. Truax of Gouverneur, and Mrs. Homer Hurlbert of Mexico, NY, besides several nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Macomb and when health permitted was always found in the place of worship. The funeral which was held in the State Road Church was largely attended showing the high esteem in which she was held by her neighbors and friends. Rev. Mr. Lobb of Depeyster preached from 1 Cov 15-57. "But Thanks be to God which Giveth Us the Victory Through Our Lord Jesus Christ," after which we laid her to rest beside her daughters, Percy and Amy, who had preceeded her.
