John Thomas Foster was born in Gainesville, Texas. Before he entered the Army he worked for R S R R. He married Ruth Rhue 14 September 1918, which was eleven days before he entered the Army. He died in boot camp in Arkansas as the result of influenza and pneumonia. He was a veteran of World War I.
