Arvella Boone Stinnett of Disputanta departed this life Sunday, June 12, 2005, at her residence. Arvella was the fourth of nine children born Dec. 1, 1941, to the late Raymond and Catherine Boone. She was also preceded in death by Johnny, Leroy, Eugene, and Robert Boone all of New Jersey. Arvella was born and raised in Elizabeth, N.J., where she attended and graduated from the New York School for the Blind. Arvella was employed by Mount Carmel Guild in Newark, N.J., and VA Hospital in Summerset, N.J. She was a long time member of New Zion Baptist Church of Elizabeth, N.J., where she sang on the Senior Choir, and she also was a Nurses Aide. Arvella was formally married to Buford Stinnett of Tennessee. She relocated back to Elizabeth, N.J., where she became active in a prayer band. Arvella relocated to Prince George two years ago.
She leaves to cherish her memory; one daughter, Marion Renee Turner of Prince George; two sons, Keith Allen Stinnett and Kevin Anthony Stinnett both of Elizabeth, N.J.; four grandchildren, Raymond Boone (Latasha), Nicole Garner, Ashli Stinnett, and Jourdyn Stinnett, all of New Jersey; two sisters, one devoted, Juanita Carmine (Arthur) of Prince George and Catherine Porter (the late Frank) of Elizabeth, N.J.; two brothers, Stanley Boone (Gloria) of Roselle, N.J. and Floyd Boone (Carol) of East Orange, N.J.; one devoted brother-in-law, Arthur Carmine of Prince George; seven nieces, one devoted, Arvella (Chelly), Carmine (Kevin), Margaret Murdock (Freda), Sherrie Thomas (Sam), of Virginia, Sabrina Boone, Angela Porter, Lisa Boyd (Patrick) of New Jersey, Juanita Hall of Georgia; four nephews, Antoine Carmine of Virginia, Ronnie Carmine of Virginia and Stanley Derrick Boone, Jr. (Nicole), Craig Boone of N.J.; three devoted cousins, Dorothy Laring, Willette Jeter, Sadie Blowe all of N.J.; one devoted friend, Edna Baker of East Orange, N.J.; six great grandchildren; a host of great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005, from the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph A. Simmons, Sr., pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Jarrett. Interment will be in Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
