| Birth: | Oct. 5, 1962 | | Death: | Apr. 13, 2004 | British TV presenter. Daughter of TV personality Gloria Hunniford and BBC producer Don Keating, she was almost assured a career in television. After serving her apprenticeship as a presenter in her native Northern Ireland, she landed a prime job presenting the long established BBC TV children's arts and variety show "Blue Peter". She established herself quickly as the team's resident daredevil, with her best remembered escapade being a piece on swimming with sharks; she was also well known for stunts involving water jumps and high buildings. She was the first female Blue Peter presenter to bring a sense of fashion to the show and consequently an appeal to slightly older female viewers. She left Blue Peter in 1990 to look after her new family, but returned to broadcasting in 1996 as a stand-in co-presenter on "This Morning". She then moved to hosting consumer affairs show "We Can Work It Out", the magazine format series "Summer Scene" and co-presented "Family Affairs" with her mother. She died after a courageous seven year battle with breast cancer. (bio by: Mount Hope NY)
