Civil War Union soldier. He enrolled on September 1, 1861 at Pittsburgh and mustered in there on October 23 as a Private for a three-year term in Company I of the 105th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers Infantry, known as the Wildcat Regiment. He gave his age as 25. He was discharged on May 17, 1862 on a Surgeon's Certificate of Disability. He died August 27, 1862 in the Broad Street US Army Hospital at Broad & Cherry Sts. in Philadelphia. He was originally interred in Glenwood Cemetery, Philadelphia.
