Ezra Lorenzo Liljenquest was the son of Ola Nilsson Liljenquist and his wife Annie Christine Nielson. He was a very intellegent man who had many accademic accomplishments, teaching at various institution. He was the first Superintendent of of schools when Madison High School came into being. He wrote a book about Mathematics that have some "tricks" my father suggested for me as I try to help my special education students who struggle with math concepts. I had asked my father, who is a brilliant thinker in his own right, and he said a lot of the "tricks" he uses are in his Uncle Ezra's book.

I remember my great uncle as a retired educator. He and Aunt May lived in the old Sunnydell schoolhouse and when I went to visit them, particularly when my grandmother (Aunt May's sister) would come to stay with them. Uncle Ezra had chinchillas he was raising and he would show them to me. He was a very kind and gentle man.

Ezra married Mary Malinda Wilcox 3 October 1907 in the Salt Lake City Temple, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. He and his wife had two daughters: LaVerne (C.M. Hacking) and Laurene (Charles W. Arnett); and three sons: Ermil Ezra, Lorenzo Blaine, and Don C. Liljenquist.
